The story of the
Centrexpo Promutuel Assurance
On December 5, 2014, Drummondville celebrated the inauguration of its brand new convention and exhibition centre, the Centrexpo Cogeco. Ten years later, the venue, which attracts nearly 75,000 visitors every year, is as ambitious as ever.
This $30-million project aimed to provide Drummondville’s region with a third convention centre to expand its event hosting capacity, while offering a space for large-scale exhibitions. At the time, the Le Dauphin and Best Western Universel hotels were the only options with suitable conference facilities.

A vibrant economic and tourist hub in Drummondville
In ten years, the Centrexpo has attracted more than 750,000 visitors and hosts an average of 400 events per year. Its success is in large part due to its ability to host multiple events simultaneously within its facilities. Every year, Drummond économique estimates that Centrexpo, which will be renamed Promutuel Assurance in January, has generated an average of 6,550 overnight stays in Drummondville hotels since the pandemic.

A key contributor to the local economy
The Centrexpo Promutuel Assurance aims to stimulate and contribute to the local economy. Drummond économique’s CEO emphasizes the quality of the building’s design and points out that visitors and conference attendees give it high praise. Just recently, we celebrated the tenth anniversary and new identity of the Drummondville Centrexpo Promutuel Assurance. A bright future for the centre.
